You start out as one of the kids, going with whatever character design you choose from the main menu. On the other hand, playing as a Neighbor is much more fun and rewarding, albeit completely unbalanced.

You can search all drawers and cupboards, but it seems incredible tiresome after a few short rounds. The problem is that there isnвЂ™t much to look for except for the key keys. Much of the house is shrouded in darkness, so you have a torch to keep you company, but you can swap it out for different items as you progress through the different rooms. Navigating around the house and finding the appropriate keys to expand your search area is fun for a short time, but quickly loses its charm thanks to the aforementioned awkward controls (even with increased sensitivity) and soft environmental design. We lost count of how many times we saw the whole group of players just wandering around the entrance to the house, throwing boxes at each other, shouting вЂњneighbor, neighbor!вЂќ Children, huh? What hasnвЂ™t helped, though, is that if youвЂ™re dating strangers, donвЂ™t be surprised if some of them simply refuse to behave.

After some trial and error and a little luck in finding the right items, the purpose of the game began to gradually become clear. WeвЂ™ll be the first to admit it, but when we started playing as kids, we didnвЂ™t have prompt what we needed to do. When you load into a match, the game will tell you whether you are playing as a kid or a dastardly Neighbor, with some basic instructions on what to do while playing.
